The Brief  |  Branding for restaurant project
The Balkan Butler, located in Surry Hills, Sydney, is a family run cafe style restaurant with a focus on Balkan cuisine.
I was responsible for all branding development in collaboration with the owners that began with logo design and rolled out across the full spectrum of the restaurant's communication sphere, including across the interior design space. This incorporated identifying the brand attributes, creating personas and user journeys, and prioritising design goals accordingly.
Deliverables included signage, website, in-house printed menus, initial opening and ongoing promo pieces, and a range of merchandise items such as tee’s, caps and keep-cups.
A finely tuned social media strategy was developed prior to opening, and continues with my responsibilities for all asset creation on a daily upload program.

The Result
The branding has worked fantastically across all mediums. Its incorporation of the Cyrillic alphabet was a huge factor for the owner who wanted an anchor to the Balkan culture to shine through the logo mark.
Despite opening 8 weeks prior to Christmas 2018 (a notoriously awkward time to present new business) The Balkan Butler has absolutely thrived, including over the holiday period. We have easily reached all social targets set and have been approached by reputable food bloggers, online city guides and local press to be featured in their publications, through our daily posts on the usual social channels.
